Cool Down Space Application - Fractalfest 2022

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the cool down space at Fractalfest 2022! Staffed throughout the entire event, this service will provide a safe and supportive space for attendees undergoing overwhelming or difficult experiences.

The festival will take place in Western Mass from August 25-28. We are looking to organize a team of compassionate and motivated individuals who will complete two 6-hour shifts over the course of the event (or one 12-hour on-call shift + one 6-hour in-tent shift / details provided in sections below).

All volunteers will:
• Receive free admission to the festival
• Be expected to arrive sober and on time to their scheduled shifts
• Be expected attend one pre-festival team meeting in Boston/ Somerville/ Cambridge area

1) Thursday, August 25: 11:30am - 11:30pm

PLEASE NOTE: This is an on-call shift that will be completed with one of the co-coordinators. This shift will require you to be present onsite and either present in the cool down tent or available to be reached via phone call. Because we expect this to be a very quiet shift, and because you will not be required to be in the tent the entire time, this will count as 1 of your required 2 shifts (even though this shift is 12 hours instead of 6).

2) Thursday/Friday, August 25/26: 11:30pm - 11:30am

PLEASE NOTE (same as #1): This is an on-call shift that will be completed with one of the co-coordinators. This shift will require you to be present onsite and either present in the cool down tent or available to be reached via phone call. Because we expect this to be a very quiet shift, and because you will not be required to be in the tent the entire time, this will count as 1 of your required 2 shifts (even though this shift is 12 hours instead of 6).

3) Friday, August 26: 11:30am - 5:30pm

5) Friday/Saturday August 26/27: 11:30pm - 5:30am

This will be a two-hour meeting aimed at preparing you for the festival and the work we will be doing. Please mark "yes" for all possible dates that you could attend this meeting.
